So yeah, some matches happened this weekend. Let’s recap them and I’ll let you know what to look forward to this weekend!
Chelsea vs Tottenham – (Chelsea 4-2) Your first FA Cup Semifinal ended pretty predictably with heartbreak for the North London boys. The Spurs boys are more focused on ending Saint Totteringham’s Day this weekend.
Arsenal v Manchester City – (Arsenal 2-1) The Blue side of Manchester is feeling blue, fuck i hate puns, about losing to an Arsenal side that’s been in free fall for awhile. It’s as if Man City doesn’t like playing for Pep and they’re going to spend a veritable shit ton of money bringing in Leo Messi next year!
El Clasico Real Madrid v Barcelona – (2-3 Barcelona) Holy balls this was an amazing match! It seemed that Madrid had it wrapped up for at least a point and then Messi did some amazing Messi stuff and snuck a win for Barca. Madrid has a game in hand but Barca has an easier schedule, so should be a fun race to the end for the La Liga title.
Coming up this weekend!
Espanyol v Barcelona – The Barcelona derby. A big Clasico win gives Barca the edge on the La Liga title and the domestic double and this is probably the toughest match Barca has left on their schedule now that they are eliminated from European competition.
Roma v Lazio – The Rome Derby. Roma sits in 2nd place in Serie A and Lazio in 4th. Roma has Champions League pretty much secured and Lazio is chasing Napoli for the 3rd Champions League spot.
Nice v PSG – PSG travels to Nice for a 3rd place v 2nd place battle. PSG is tied with Monaco for first in Ligue 1 on 80 points having just dispatched Monaco 5-0 in the semis of the domestic cup competition. Nice has already secured Champions League and has an outside shot at the title if they can get 3 points at home and the other two slip up.
Tottenham v Arsenal – The North London Derby happens again with an opportunity for the Spurs to control the fate of Saint Totteringham’s Day for the first time since 1995. So I can’t wait to see how they manage to screw this one up.
