Apologies for the delay in getting these posted this week. When you have a dumb league that decides to play during international windows these games tend to sneak up on you.
Chicago Fire v Atlanta United – Here’s a fun fact. Atlanta United have scored with their left foot 12 times. That’s tied for most in the league. That’s a stupid weird fact that has absolutely no impact on this game. Atlanta is also one of only a handful of teams averaging a point on the road. So left foot plus Julian Gressel = 2-2 Draw.
Sporting KC v Montreal Impact – Sporking took 27 shots against Minnesota last week, the most in MLS this season, on their way to a 3-0 win. Montreal hasn’t beaten Sporking in any of their last five attempts. The Sporks are just too good at home for any chance of an impact (see what I did there? No? Dammit, well I’ll see myself out then) Sporking Nicklebacks 3-0
Portland Timbers v FC Dallas – The Timbers have been snake-bitten by FC Dallas in recent history, failing to beat them in any of their last five matches. It also doesn’t help that Dallas has been one of the best road teams in recent history and only recently had their eight-game road unbeaten streak snapped against Chicago on May 25th. Expect a high flying Portland attack snuffed out by the meticulous defending of FC Dallas and a Dallas win 2-1.
That’s it, enjoy this amateur league’s weekend slate of matches and get ready for some hot, hot Open Cup action!
